You dont have to own a Mega yacht to justify a Fire retardant treatment. This may save you the outcome of the following incident. Not a 14 foot as reported but more like a 40 foot high spec leisure sailing yacht. Probably owners pride and joy.
The main incidents affecting damage(and in some cases total loss) are a direct result of fire on board.

North Wales Fire Service incident commander Arron Spencer said: “When we arrived there was a well-developed fire. We’ve used one hose reel and two main jets. It took 15 to 20 minutes to get the fire under control.
“It was deep-seated so it caused a lot of damage. A specialist water incident unit from Bangor also attended but was not called into use.”
The mast of the boat appeared to be burn through, as well as most of the craft’s deck and cabin.
Marina officials and fire officers were discussing how to make the mast safe as they feared it may have collapsed because of the damage.
